Introduction to common terms and units of UVLED curing machine

1. Luminous flux φ: the sum of the amount of light emitted by the luminous body per second. Unit: Lumen (Lm), which indicates how much the luminous body emits, the more luminous, the greater the number of lumens. The general luminous flux is used by UVLED lamp beads and chip manufacturers to measure the luminous efficiency of the lamp beads.

2. Light Intensity I: The luminous flux emitted by a luminous body within a unit solid angle in a specific direction. Unit: candela (cd).

3. Illuminance E: The luminous flux of the illuminant irradiated on the unit area of the illuminated object. Unit: Lux (Lux) = Lumen Lm/area m2. Of course, the power measurement unit is generally used in the UVLED curing machine industry: mW/cm2. The light intensity, radiance and intensity in the general industry refer to illuminance.

4. Brightness L: The luminous flux of the illuminant in a specific direction per unit solid angle and unit area. Unit: Nitre (mcd). For example, an LED with a luminous angle of 60 degrees has a luminous flux in a 60-degree cone.

5. Light efficiency: the ability of an electric light source to convert electrical energy into light, expressed by dividing the emitted luminous flux by the power consumption. Unit: lumens per watt (Lm/w). The UVLED industry is generally called the photoelectric conversion rate, and the photoelectric conversion efficiency of the UVLED curing machine is generally between 5% and 20%.

6. Lifespan: Considering the damage of the UVLED curing machine and the attenuation of the beam output at the same time, its comprehensive beam output is reduced to a specific number of hours. Generally, the initial light source is 70%.
